Koolomurt Pastoral is a
beef and wool producer focusing mainly on beef production.
Our hereford breeding
operation is carried out at Koolomurt in Western Victoria,
with the steers transferred to Box Plains in Gippsland for
fattening. Heifers not required for breeding are retained
at Koolomurt for fattening in our own feedlot for the domestic
market.
Injemira bulls have been used exclusively
for over 10 years, concentrating on growth rates and carcase
yield characteristics.
Merino sheep are bred for wool, with half
joined to Border Leicester rams to produce first cross lambs.
The merino flock is based on South Australian
bloodlines, to produce larger, plain bodied sheep.
The property is Cattlecare, Flockcare, and
NFAS accredited
It also carries MSA certification and is European Union accredited.
Cattle turnoff each year is 1000 2 year old
steers, 360 1 year old heifers and 300 cows.
Annual sheep turnoff includes 1500
first cross lambs, 1250 Merino wether lambs and 500 CFA ewes.
