Koolomurt Pastoral is a beef and sheep-meat producer focusing mainly on beef production.
Our Hereford breeding operation is carried out at Koolomurt in Western Victoria, with the steers transferred to Box Plains in Gippsland for fattening. Heifers not required for breeding are retained at Koolomurt for fattening in our own feedlot for the domestic market.
Heifer first calvers are joined to Te Mania Angus bulls, and we breed some black cattle from their progeny.
Injemira bulls have been used exclusively for over 20 years, concentrating on growth rates and carcase yield characteristics.
Our sheep operation is based on maternal composite self-replacing ewes. The main bloodlines are from the stud of the Judy, John and Josh Dowdy.
The property is Cattlecare, Flockcare, PCAS, JBS Assured and NFAS accredited
It also carries MSA certification and is European Union accredited.
Our aim is to profitably market consistent, even lines of carcases that meet customer expectations.
To achieve this, we use the latest technology and software to seek constant improvement.
